Pay is definitely an issue but so much more needs to happen. Teachers are responsible for so many uncontrollable issues. We’re always so amazed by the innovative approaches educators take to change the thought process of the kids today.

I agree that the teacher’s pay scale is definitely an important factor to consider if we want more students to take up the teaching profession.

Certainly there might be many reasons for quitting the job of a teacher in New Zealand. But the most important is that the teachers are being paid low as comp[are to other profession. The other reasons is that 45% of the teachers community has gained the age of 50 years. So many teachers have got their retirement and many are at the verge of the retirement. Thirdly the pay package of the teachers needs to be revised so that it may compete with the market.
